Conceived in the first instance as a fuel saving, efficient and easy to drive small car Alec Issigonis masterpiece evolved over time until production concluded on 4 October 2000. By the late 1990s however the Mini had lost its cheap runabout image and with the backing of BMW, Rover re-engineered what was then a 38-year-old design to create what has now become known as The Last Minis
A year 2000 Mini Cooper recently sold at auction for $59,225 in New Zealand. A classic in the making!
